There are many skills required in work, at any level within the organisation. We feel assertiveness, correctly applied, is a key driver to personal and organisational success.

Aggressive or Passive people may skue decision making and have a negative impact on themselves and others.

Please note assertiveness involves changing mindsets and behaviour. It will not happen overnight. Support is needed either via appraisals, mentoring or line managers' support.

 Assertiveness

When dealing with others assertiveness is a key skill.

The ability to say "no" , to make reasonable requests, to put forward ideas and opinions, to deal with difficult people and situations, to walk away feeling that you have done your best.

There are also advantages to the organisation. If ideas and options are not shared then decision making can be skued.

Let's clarify what we mean-assertiveness is not about winning arguements it is about respect and looking for win-win options.

Typical programme includes;
